Marc Makil's Reflection on the Sermon...
Every time a year draws to a close, people tend to come up with lists of what they would like to do or achieve in the New Year – the proverbial New Year’s resolutions. Some would like to kick old and bad habits, while some would welcome a new challenge career-wise or others would promise to commit to a healthier lifestyle. Yet there are also those who simply yearn for better circumstances, a life with fewer problems, worries and headaches.

A Reflection on the Sermon: “Consistent Christian”
By Melissa Sagmit
Have you ever experienced heading towards a certain destination but ended up getting lost? You may have ridden the wrong bus or made a wrong turn taking you to a different direction? Similarly, as Christ’s followers, when our faith crumbles, we can go astray and end up losing our way.
Pastor Edwin delivered a beautiful message of hope last Sunday. He shared that for us Christians to live a consistent life of faith, we should always be mindful of our spiritual bearing. Spiritual bearing means knowing our identity in Christ: that we are children of God, who are spiritually alive in Christ through His death and resurrection.
Knowing where we stand is important to determine our position so we find the right path towards our destination. God has provided a spiritual compass to guide us. This guide is the Bible, God’s Holy word. The truth that we find in it never changes. When we get disoriented or confused and we are uncertain where to go, we can confidently rely on the Bible to always lead us to the right direction. The Bible will always point us to Jesus Christ. Let us relentlessly aim to focus our eyes on Jesus.
Our journey will never be easy, but the journey's end will be absolutely worthwhile and rewarding. We will finally be in the house of God our Father through glorious eternity. Ahead is heaven, our ultimate destination!
"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to Father except through me."(John 14:6)
