“Yummy Peanut Butter”

Have you ever been tempted to open a jar of peanut butter and put a spoonful in your mouth? Yum-Yum! I love peanut butter. It tastes sweet and sticks to the roof of your mouth, it is indeed a hard habit to break. Do you know that there are many claims about the origin of peanut butter? Africans ground peanuts into stews as early as the 15th century. The Chinese have crushed peanuts into creamy sauces for centuries. Civil War soldiers dined on 'peanut porridge.' These uses, however, bore little resemblance to peanut butter as it is known today. No matter how people made peanut butter, it still taste yummy.

God’s Word, the Bible is like peanut butter in some ways. God’s Word is sweet like peanut butter. “How sweet are your words to my taste. Sweeter than honey to my mouth.” Psalm 119:103

When God tells of His love for the world, it is sweet and it sticks like peanut butter. The Bible verses should stick in our hearts when we read them and you will want to read the Bible more because it is good and it sticks with you. You will remember God’s Word to help you obey your parents and teachers.

Tell other about the sweetness of God’s Word so they can know Jesus too. Keep the habit…. Share that tasty Word to your friends…. Yummy!
